While the Internet and the World Wide Web has provided us with the opportunity to access, share, and collaborate on human creations at a scale never seen before in the history of mankind, these sharing and collaboration capabilities are restricted by copyright laws. Copyright grants a set of exclusive rights to a creator, so that the creator has the ability to prevent others from copying and adapting her work for a limited time.
